Hair Tips with the OG Galene Girls.

So Most of you will recognise the beautiful women above. These girls are the OG Galene women who helped me build a wonderful image of what Galene was about. Recently, I chatted them all about their favourite hair care ideas, and I thought it would be brilliant to show you what the OGs are doing. Below are all of their cute little tips that help them all keep their luscious locks.

Sofia

Sofia’s hair care tip is all around keeping your scalp and hair strand free from damage. She recommends argan oil, which she leaves on both her roots and her ends for it to soak up and keep her hair hydrated. She also loves rices water as it really helps heal and strengthen the strands and would totally recommend trying it, even if it takes a hot second to get hold of.

Rose

Rose absolutely swears by using glycolic acid as a scalp treatment. It helps her with any build up from any product she has used, and she does it about once a week as a pre-wash treatment before she goes in for her hair wash.

Kani

Kani’s tip is perhaps the most fun in that she really finds that kid’s shampoo is so much more gentle on her locks. She is also a huge fan of using oils as a pre wash, and opts for both coconut oil and rosemary oil to really make her hair have such a gorgeous glow, to which everyone who knows her can attest to lol.

Astrid

As a curly haired girlie, Astrid had loads of tips to share on all the awesome things she does to maintain her curls. Here’s a quick debrief:

  • Wash your hair with conditioner instead of shampoo for the majority of the time, shampoo can be really damaging for your curls if not used correctly so Astrid opts for about once a week. She also opts for rose oil as a pre-wash treatment to help protect it.

  • Leave-in conditioners, curl creams and gels are your best friends. Also, scrunching your hair after and letting is air dry will maximise it to looking its best. If you need to dry it a little quicker than that, opt for a t-shirt as a towel to decrease the amount of damage.

  • Never brush your curls when your hair is dry, it will frizz and not be fun to manage. Use a denman brush ro a comb when your hair is still wet to help create your curls and keep them in shape while it drys.

  • Silk pillow cases may seem a little extra, but they’re brilliant for both your hair and skin and you can find ones that aren’t too expensive.

  • If you’re worried about your curls loosening, Astrid recommends refreshing them with a little water and curl product will solve everything.

Asha

Asha, like me, lovessss the Garnier hair food coconut mask. Her hair is naturally quite curly so this mask provides the perfect level of hydration in the winter times. She couples this with Garnier shampoo and conditioner in the shower to add that extra finish to her hair, leaving it in a perfect glowy finish.

Alex

Alex is also a rosemary oil lover and uses it very regularly on her gorgeous long locks. Her favourite trick however is doing a hair mask twice a week which she leaves in as a slick back bun for a couple hours before washing. This is definitely a brilliant way to get such a slick and cute hairstyle while still caring for your hair.

These girls definitely know what’s up when it comes to taking excellent care of their locks. Oils, masks, scalp treatments, they’ve got it sorted. Hopefully this will provide a few ideas on how to incorporate proper haircare into your weekly routine and maximise your hair game.
